ABOUT TERI PUGH

Some interior designers have a signature style. Not Houston’s award-winning Teri Pugh, whose versatile portfolio includes an array of homes and commercial spaces across Texas and the entire Southwest.

From sleek urban modernism to classical European elegance, Teri draws on her deep personal aesthetic and architectural experience for diverse designs to match the demands of her exclusive clientele.

With a degree in graphic design, Teri got her professional start working for shelter publications on the advertising and production side including top titles such as Home & Garden and Texas Architect. In 1996, Teri launched the Austin Design Source, a design consultancy focused on commercial spaces, hotels and restaurants. In 1999, having become expert in blueprints and architectural review, she chose to join the family business – high-end home building.

A decade later, in 2009, Teri set out on her own, and launched Teri Pugh Studios in the bustling Houston Design Center near the heart of Texas’ largest city. In 2012, Teri and event planner, installation florist Regina Gust won Best in Show at the Design Center’s seventh annual Deck the Tables event for their holiday setting.

“We consider ourselves more than an interior design studio,” Teri chimes, sitting in her offices, surrounded by material samples. ”It’s not the same thing over and over.”

Lighting. Flooring. Window treatments. Upholstery. You name it…. For clients, Teri offers consultations at all stages of production from new-home planning to final finishes on executive offices – indeed, a substantial portion of Pugh Studios business is dedicated to providing a wide range of “faux finishes” to others in the design field.

It’s all testimony not only to Teri’s impeccable if eclectic tastes, but also her fine-tuned approach to client relations. “I like to listen to people first, take the essence of what they’re all about, and combine that into a harmonious space,” she explains. This philosophy extends to Teri’s own paintings. For Teri is more than the designer next door. She also takes commissions for her large quasi-abstract paintings, a few of which adorn her office walls, including a special blessing or two in each canvas.

Focused but flexible, Teri Pugh has all the right tools to meet your design needs.
